Letters from Papaw (“we,” “us”) sends a short daily letter by email. This policy explains what we collect and what we do with it. The short version: we collect your email to send you letters, we don’t sell your data, and you can leave in one click.
What we collect
- Your email address, when you subscribe.
- Basic engagement data — if you tap a “share/forward” link in a letter, we record that a share happened (the letter, where it went, and a one-way hashed form of your IP address — never your raw IP). This record is not linked to your email address. We do not use tracking pixels and do not track whether you open an email.
- Referral context, if you arrived from a forwarded letter (which letter sent you), so we can understand how letters spread.
How we use it
- To send you the daily letter and the welcome letter.
- To understand, in aggregate, how letters are shared so we can make the product better.
- To operate and secure the service.
Who we share it with
We don’t sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We rely on a small set of trusted service providers to run the service, such as Resend (email delivery), Supabase (database hosting), and Vercel (website hosting). They process data only on our behalf.
How long we keep it
We keep your email address until you unsubscribe, or until you ask us to delete it. The share-click records described above are not linked to your email and contain no raw IP; we keep them only as long as they’re useful for understanding how letters spread.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe anytime — one click in every email, no questions asked.
- Access or delete your data — email us and we’ll take care of it.
Children
The service isn’t directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we update this policy, we’ll change the date above.
